Welcome to today’s training, Developmental Disabilities Community Services (DDCS) Policy for Employment Services at Service Alternatives.
Please note! WA Developmental Disabilities has a new name!
As of May 1, 2025, community services for children and adults with disabilities changed names.
Previously Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA), they are now: Developmental Disabilities Community Services (DDCS)
The DDCS mission is still the same: We strive to help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities live and thrive in their chosen communities with the supports they choose.
Please note! Washington State's Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) revamped how community services for children and adults with disabilities are served. As of May 1st, 2025 the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) has been restructured into Developmental Disabilities Community Services (DDCS). Throughout this training we will usually use the acronym DDCS, however some materials may still refer to DDA. These are the same organization.
Today we will be reviewing nine (9) DDCS policies that govern our work and guide our services. These policies are all under DDCS Policy 6.13 Provider Qualifications for Employment and Day Program Services. If you would like to download these policies, you can find them in the Files section of this course.
